In the world of Teaching, articles about new ways to use technology in the classroom are everywhere. Every teaching blog, newsletter, magazine and seminar covers new uses of technology. Teachers are constantly told that you, students of the 21st century, use technology every day, are tech-saavy, and need to be taught WITH technology because that is how you learn best. We are also told that, in order to prepare you for the modern workforce, we need to teach you HOW to use new technology effectively.

Respond to that idea. What do you think about it? Do you think that teachers could be more effective if they used technology tools (think podcasts, web videos, online discussion forums, electronic assignment submission, tech-related project assignments)? Are modern students technologically inclined? What about being a student in Utah? Do you think that being in Utah keeps you a little behind-the-times as far as technology learning is concerned? Would YOU do better if more multi-media was used in your classrooms to teach and present, and for you to demonstrate your learning and communicate?

I think that it is important to keep up on all the new technology in the world. Though i wouldn't necessarily say that teachers should be using all the new technology in theit lessons. I think that they should have their students have homework that inclucdes getting on the computer so they can be better prepared for college and their jobs.

I think that being in Utah really effects how we (the students) learn. Most schools have big class rooms which makes it so the teacher and the students can't have as much one on one learning time. I think that being in utah does keep us a little behind the technology but not much. in New york they might have more technology and beable to use it in the classrooms more but we have some students in utah that know about as much as them.

I would not like to learn by all the electronics, i don't think that i would beable to learn as well. I think that they could ask us a little more to invole technology when doing homework but i would not enjoy having the whole lesson done with technology.

NBTT- Teachers you get along with
Since we're reading Nothing But The Truth, which involves a boy who doesn't get along with a teacher, I want you to consider teacher-student relationships you've had in the past. Have you had teachers that you just got along with whether or not you did well in their class? Have you had teachers whose personality just didn't mesh with yours? Without naming names, expound upon these ideas and thoughtfully consider how personality differences or similarities have affected you in your classes.

I don't think i have had any teachers that i really just didn't get along with. but i haven't had as many teachers as most kids my age because i was home schooled until 6th grade. there was one teacher that i don't like so i got out of their class, but it is not like we didn't get along. i just couldn't stand how they taught. I do not like worksheets, in the class that i got out of all we did was work sheets and tests. i couldn't stand it.Every student learns better a different way than others, and all teachers teach a different way. some people in my class may have thought that it was a good way to learn but i don't know.

My cousin once had a teacher that loved the football players, she (my cousin) said it was like her teacher worshiped the football players. the teacher would always give them extra credit and things like that. i would not be able to stand having a teacher like that, it would drive me insane.

I think that personalities have a big influence on if you like the teacher. I personally like teachers that make class a fun place and not totally serious.

Nature, oh how I love nature.
Not only do I love to look at you
but I love to camp and play in you too.
Nature has so many wonderful things about it
one in particular is it gives me an excape from this crazy

I can always turn to you and you will just let me think
without bothering me. I love to just sit and think while I am in your company.
Nature is a place i can go with my family and become closer to them.

How important is honesty to you? Is it more important than kindness? Share a story of a time you or someone you know was not honest and it caused problems or was 'too honest' and it caused problems.

Being honest and kind is very important. I think that being honest is more important then being kind, i am not saying that being kind is not important it is just that i think that you should be honest. When being honest could cause someone to be hurt then you don't have to tell them unless they ask you. If someone asks you opinion on something then you should tell them the truth because that is what they asked for.

A story about someone who was not honest and it caused problems... there was one time when one of my friends asked my other friend if she was mad at her because she didn't eat lunch with us anymore, and my Friend replied that she didn't mind and that we didn't even notice until the end. which was true but it was not in that type. I think that my friend that was asking the question got a little offended but i do not know for sure because i haven't asked her about it.

The world is ending. There are natural disasters happening everywhere. You know that soon you will be stranded in your house with only the food left in your cupboards. You make a mad dash to the grocery store but everyone there is in such chaos that you know you'll only have time to grab one item before escaping with your life. What item of food do you grab?Describe what the food is, how long you'll wait to eat it, what it will feel like to know you're eating it for the last time. Will you share with your family? Will you hide it away until there's nothing else left? Will you eat it a little at a time or gobble it all at once? Describe every aspect of enjoying this last savory morsel of food.

I would grab a bushel of potatoes. I would grab them becaue I heard from a friend that you can last a long time on them. There are many reasons why i would grab potatoes some include: they are very healthy, they are filling and there are many ways that you can eat them.

I would share my potatoes with my family because i don't want to be the only one eatting in my family. i would not hide them but i would try to save them until all the other food as mostly gone. but that would take a really really long time because we have so much other food that is saved up for times like these ( also known as food storage).

I would try to only eat a little at a time, because if I just ate it all in one day ( with my family) then the next day I would be hungry and that would be a waste of the potatoes. It is hard for me to imagine that I was eatting the last piece of food that we had because I have never felt that way. It would be a very sad moment knowing I was eatting the last bit of food in the house. I would try to make it last as long as i could.

Power Persuasion

Imagine that you have a superpower. The Power of Persuasion. You can convince anyone of anything. How would you use that power? What would you try to get, do, change? Would you use it for good? Or evil? Describe what the Power of Persuasion is.

The power of persuasion in my opion is being able to talk to omeone who doesn't think the same way about some thing that you do and being able to persuade them that what you think that the right thing. If i had the power of persuasion i would use it to do good. I think that if you were given a special ability then you should use it to do good.

I think that i would use it to convince people that what they are doing is wrong ( if it was ) and help them to change and be good. But i don't think that i would try to change people to much because if it is a real power and not an ability then i think that if you go to extreme then you are taking away peoples fee agency.

I think that having the power of persuasion would be really nice to have when you want something, no I would not use it to steal or anything like that, but like with my sisters and all that it would come in handy.

Finding Noel -Book Review

The last book that i read was called Finding Noel. It starts out with a man who used to be in college but couldn't pay for it so he had to drop out. The Mans name was Mark, and he was considering suicide, on his was home (which wasn't much of a home) from work his car broke down. and he went to call someone at a gas station. that is when he met Macy. they start to get to know each other and hanging out more often. He finds out about her past, which is not a very good one, she had been to a lot of foster homes and was finally adopted by a family that didn't really love her. when she was about 7 she was separated from her younger sister, Noel, and that is who they work on trying to find.

I thought that the book was really good. i couldn't put it down. it had some cute parts, it shows a true kind person and made me want to better. I think that there were some parts that did get a little boring but not many. It did a good job describing things and places. i can't really think of what could have been better in the book. I would give it five stars.

My Amazing Winter Break

Describe your ideal Winter Break. Where would you go? What would you do? Money is not an obstacle. If you could do anything you wanted, what would that be?

hmmm... well if I could do anything i wanted over winter break. I would want to go and visit my cousin who lives in Washington. Then I would want to go skiing with my family and friends. I would want to learn to snowboard.

The next thing I would do is have a sleep over with my friends at my house and stay up late talking and having fun! The next thing I would do is to go to some place warm that has a beach. and i would take all my friends with me because some of them have never been to the beach.

I would love to go out to the desert and play games with all my cousins. We would play capture the flag in the dark and all sorts of games. I would want to camp in the desert for atleast 3 nights. But to fit all these things in it would have to be a very very long break.
