Sometimes because of pride or ego or a mistaken idea, one person may not confide in another or tell them the whole truth. Have you ever been in a situation in which you didn’t want the other person to know something about you? You had something you wanted to keep secret? How did you act? Did the other person realize you were hiding something? How did your behavior change the way they acted toward you?

I know that I have had a situation like that but I can't really remember a spacific one. When you are hiding something you act different around the person that you are hiding it from. It is almost like you can't talk to them because you don't want it to slip. I don't know if the person i was hidding it from ever found out.

I have had times when people are hidding things from me. It is really annoying. Because well, I just can't talk to them the same because you never know what they are hidding from you.

It is so nice talking to someone who you are not hidding anything from because it is just a alot more chill. You don't have to be a tense and it makes hanging out with them more fun. My friend knows almost everything about me so it makes it rely fun. we have known eachother so long that a lot of the embarrassing thing that I have are when she is there.

Trick-or-treating

Describe your best or worst Halloween costume ever. Use lots of details and explain why it was so awesome or lame.

The halloween costume that I think was the best was when I dressed up as a Princess with my Friend and my little sister. I have to admit that it did not look totally awesome but it was a lot of fun to all be the same thing.

We all wore long purple dresses. We called ourselves the 3 purple princesses it was fun. I wore a Purple dress that my sister had used for a play we did. Yhen I wore a purple cape that I got from my cousins. I had my hair done up in sides up.

That halloween was the first time that my friend had ever going trick-or-treating in the past two years. We stayed up late walking aroud scaring ourselves. I loved that halloween!

Top Ten Books

I haven't read any of the books on the top ten list. I decided to look at the top book on the list. It was called Paper Towns by John Green. Paper Towns sounds like a pretty cheesy book to me but it might be kind of fun to read it. I want to know why it is called Paper Towns.

I don't really know why teens chose this book to be the top book of the top ten books. Maybe they liked it because it is based on teens and so they can relate more? I don't know.

I can't really say if I think it should be on the top ten books because I haven't read it so I can't judge it. That is why I sorta want to read it. That is all i can think of to say for now.

It seems like reading Edgar Allan Poe stories around Halloween is a rite of passage for students in English classes. He wrote poems such as "The Raven" and "Annabel Lee" and stories like "The Tell-Tale Heart", "The Black Cat", "The Fall of the House of Usher", "The Cask of Amontillado", "The Masque of the Red Death", "The Pit and the Pendulum", etc.
If you have read Poe stories before, which ones have you read and what do you remember of them? Did you like them? How scary/creepy were they? Share your memories of you or teachers reading the works of Edgar Allan Poe.
If you have not read Poe or don't remember, describe to me what you expect from a classic horror writer? What kinds of stories do you think we'll be reading? Have you ever read scary stories?

"The Great White Box"

How do you keep making the lights go on and off?" your pet might wonder.Write about you doing something in your house...from a pet's point of view.

From my cage by the sliding door I see a lot of wonders to look at. There are many things that I have no clue what they do and why they need them but the one I like the best is a "white box". What could that white box do? I see them put food in and then it comes out hot and steaming, what goes on inside? What do those buttons do? They look like a fun thing to peck at.

I have learned a few things about the "Great White Box" ( that is the name I gave it) I know that food goes in it cold and comes out hot and steaming. I also know what sound it makes when it is done, I can make it myself. It took a while to learn but I think I have got it down. I am still studying it and hopefully will have a lot longer to do so.

Something Beautiful...

Have you ever studied a skunk's eyes? Write about some item you find beauty in that many others might not.

I love the desert. Some people may think it is just a dry piece land but I think it is so beautiful in its own unique way. It is also full of fun things to do.

The desert is really open and empty which makes it really fun. Although from the first look at it it looks really dead but when you look a little closer there is so much life out there. There are so many stars while you are out in the desert because there are not any street lights.

I guess that is might help that I have been to the desert a lot with my family and cousins and it is so much fun. We go to this one place almost every ear and I love it. When we are out there are only one or two cars pass in a day which makes it fun because you are the only one around for miles. I love to lay down and look up at the stars. I love the desert!

Dangerous Secret!!!!!! AHHHH

Have you ever known a secret that you thought you should tell? Did you tell? If you've never experienced this, what do you think it would be like to know a secret that you think is dangerous?

No I don't really know a secret that I thought I should tell. But if I had known a secret that I should tell I would probably tell, though it would be really hard because when you hear a secret the person telling you usually makes you promise that you won't tell anyone before they tell you.

Sometimes you have to break that type of promise for the better. Even though that person who told you would be mad, not telling the secret could lead to worse things than one person being mad at you. It would be really hard to decided to tell or not to tell because where do you draw the line?

I think it would be way hard to keep a secret that I knew was dangerous. It would probably slip out one time when i didn't mean it to. Which could be even more dangerous because it could get in to the wrong hands.

Friar Laurence

Write a journal from the perspective of Romeo, Juliet, Friar Laurence or Nurse. It should take place after the end of Act II when Romeo and Juliet have been secretly married. Remember, you ARE this person writing what they would be thinking and feeling at this time.

Well today was one of the oddest days of this week. Romeo, the Montague's only son, came to me and asked me if I would marry him and Juliet, the Capulet's only daughter. When he first asked me I scolded him for falling in love with another woman so quickly. I told him it was not wise, and that he was only falling in love with the girls because of their beauty. Though I think it all went over his head. I don't think he really understands what danger he is putting himself in.

He did seem so in love when he came to me. I finally told him I would preform the ceremony for the two lovers. I agreed upon the hope that them getting married might lead to the end of this dreadful fight between their two families. I hope it will work as I have hoped so the town may be a peaceful place again.

I am going to marry them tonight in secret and then i am not sure how or when they are going to tell their parents. hopefully it won't cause a terrible fight to break out. Oh I think I see Romeo coming down the road, and what a big smile has he on his face, guess I better go and get it over with. I will write again once is said and done.

FATE

Do you believe in Fate? Are there certain things in life that, once set in motion, are inevitable; things that cannot be stopped once they are started? The story of Romeo and Juliet implies that the path of their love and what happens to them is part of Fate's plan. Do you think this is possible?

Fate for a four letter word has a very big and complicated meaning. I hear the word used a lot but I am not sure rally what it means, like I have a small idea but i don't know. I am sure that there are some things that you can't stop once you start.

Though I am not quite sure if I would count Romeo and Juliet as one of those. They, if they really wanted to, could have left each other and moved to different parts of the country and tried to not remember the other. But I think that they might have wanted to see where it would go if they just let things go how they were going.

Romeo

Wow what a day. As you know Rosaline will not love me even though I have shown her that I love her with all my heart. I am not sure what I can do about that. Anyway i have some good news, my cousin, Benvolio and I just found out that there is a Capulet ball tonight and Rosaline will be there so I think I am going to go.

Though Benvolio has not told me directly I know why he is wanting me to go. He wants be to find another lovely girl so I will fall in love with her and stop loving Rosaline. That, I can tell you now, will never happen no matter how hard he tries! I do not want to love anyone but Rosaline I just wish she had the same deep feelings for me as I do for her. Well I guess I better go get ready for the ball we still have to find a way to sneak in.

True Love

Define true love. Do you believe it exists?(Hint: have you ever seen it? give an example. Why do you believe/not believe in it?)

I have never really thought about true love that often, it just never came to my mind. I have thought about marriage and in a way I think that they kind of go hand in hand. Because a marriage can't be wonderful if you don't both truly love each other.

I am not quite sure how to explain True love because I have never experienced true love ( which for my age i think is a good thing). We could start be braking up the two words. To me True means being: Loyal, Honest, Steadfast and truthful. Love: when you want to be with someone forever. So when you put them both together I think it is when you are in love with someone so much you want to live with them forever. Like when you get married I think that you should have "true Love" because you are going to be with them forever not just this life but for eternity. Though true love is not just wanting to be with someone forever I think it is when you are loyal to your spouse as well.

What Superpower Whould I Choose?

If you had one superpower, what would it be and why? (Hint: describe exactly what your power would be, why you would want that one, what you would use your power for, etc. Would you be good or evil? Would you use it just for fun or for a good cause?)

If I were a superhero and I could have any power I wanted I would choose to be able to fly. I would choose flying because well i think that it would just be cool flying though the air high above the cities. Also if I could fly I would be able to go anywhere I wanted any time. I would love to visit my cousins in Washington and go to the beach when ever I wanted it would be so fun.

Just imagine flying though the air on a bright spring morning with the birds singing and the wind going though your hair, reaching your arms out. Then looking down at the town and seeing all the houses. I wish i could do that right now!

I would use my power for a good cause like... well I am not quite sure, but I would use it for a good cause. I don't really like when people have a power and they use it to do evil I the world it just bugs me. So if I had a power I would use it for a good cause.

SHAKESPEAR!!!!????

What comes to your mind when you hear the words, "Now we're going to read Shakespeare!" Do you cringe in fear? Do you giggle with glee? What past experiences have you had with Shakespeare to make you react the way you do?

When I first heard that we were reading Shakespeare I was not excited though not dreading it. Then when I read the topic for this thing I was even more not excited, but then as I was working on writing this paper I decided that it might not be that bad. I have not read any of his books/plays so I should not be the one to judge them....yet.

I have seen a couple plays and movies that Shakespeare wrote, the ones that come to my mind are: The "Taming of the Shrew" and "Romeo and Juliet". I don't think that those were that bad of plays/movies, they did have a little weird plots though. There was one play I went to when I was little and I think that it might have been Shakespeare, but I am not really sure. The reason I liked it was because we got to throw tomatoes at the bad guys. But I didn't understand the plot at all, and I don't remember the name of it.

Some of the plots are really confusing. Yesterday I was talking to my sister about what we had to write and thought it would be a ton of fun. She also said that the books are not confusing to her, so I think that they just take some time getting used too. We will see how this goes. :)
